The other day we went bowling and yes, I know, I should no longer be shocked with the food choices the average person appears to make. However, I just can't help but feel aghast. Looking around people were consuming massive quantities of beer, greasy pizza, nacho's, and wings. Yes, I'll admit the pizza looked and smelled good. But, wow, I can't imagine taking a bite of it. I know you probably think I'm crazy and how I eat is rigid. But, that's what I've become accustomed to and it's what makes me happy. Food is not as important to me as feeling and looking good. It's not just about the outside but the importance of what it does for my health. Most of my students at lunch eat this same way. Is this why America is obese? I realize it's cheaper to buy high in fat and caloric food but why don't other countries have this problem? I can't help it, I really worry about our youth and the patterns I see that develop at such a young age and it just continues on up to adulthood. How do you tackle this problem with your own kids?
