The great thing about summer is utilizing all the 'alternative exercises' that are a part of whats fun about summer. Lat wweek I had several mornings for one-on-one time with my almost 9 year old son. We rode on the street longer distances for the first time. He was so proud of himself and felt so proud ( the other kids don't have the skill or confidence to do that yet). It was a fun bonding time and I got some exercise as well. On Friday, we went swimming and I treaded water in the deep end while watching the two boys dive. Wow, was THAT a workout. Swimming is very humbling for me. It really kicks my butt as a cardio exercise. At times, having all the children home from school can wear me down emotionally and physically ( just negotiating arguements can be a challenge), but summer is fun for me ( and I hope my kids as well!).
