Today my husband left the house at 5:00 in the morning. I was shocked because I didn't hear him shower or even start the microwave (our room is right next to the kitchen) for his usual egg sandwich. You know me, the "food police" wife, was worried he didn't have any breakfast (the most important meal of the day! As I've mentioned in previous blogs...) before he left for a 14 hour work day. Later I texted him to find out what he ended up doing and he told me he had decided to try one of the Optisource drinks we had sitting in our fridge. I then of course yelled at him that a shake was not a proper meal. But, he actually taught me something. His drink was a meal replacement that contained all the vital nutrients, high in protein and low in calories. He brought home a chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. Tonight he had me try one (the vanilla) and I have to tell you: it was like Christmas in my mouth!!!! No wonder he decided to have that instead of the egg sandwich. It tasted exactly like a shake. I was doubtful that it had actually filled him up but he said he thought it had prolonged his hunger. Hmmmm I may have to try one for one of my meals later this week and see for myself. I'll let you know what positives/negatives I have to report...
