Today my husband and I both took the day off. I get three personal days and darn it, I wanted to use at least one before school lets out this week. We got extremely lucky and it was a gorgeous, sunny day of 85! It was a relaxing and much needed day for my husband and me. We spent the day swimming, playing cornhole, packing a little picnic, and throwing the frisbee into the pool for the dogs to get a little activity and fun. It was the perfect way to just veg out and enjoy the day. This year has seemed pretty rough with my medical issues, my parents back problems, combined with the pregnancy and I'm not sure if the pregnancy has created it; but, CRAZY drama with my family. It certainly makes it difficult to work when you feel lousy, couple that with stress from family that appears to be on-going and eventually you just have a meltdown. I'm beginning to realize that I'm going to have to start being selfish. I have gotten some good advice from a few people that this is our baby and our family; no one else has the right to judge. Usually I am consumed with making others happy to the point where it can really stress me out. I know this is both a pro and con to my personality. However, I'm already starting to realize, none of that matters when it comes to my baby's health. If I'm stressed, I most certainly am stressing my baby out. I can't fix other peoples problems so all I can do is try to be a good listener. I am going to try and be a positive preson (lol, despite the fact that I'm still puking about three times a week! haha) and focus on my family for a change. This is actually why I thought taking off today would be a good way to get away from the stress of things for a minute. An absolutely stunning day to swim and picnic!
