Today was my first shower! My aunt threw it for me and it was absolutely perfect. It makes me all the more excited for my beautiful baby boy to here! She had tons of great food (not too much of which I had time to eat because I was making the rounds talking to everyone which is a shame since it was my favorite foods!) and great decorations. Although I highly recommend if you can plan your pregnancy at all planning it for the winter...at least having your last trimester in the winter. A mom's core temperature is a lot higher when there's another life inside there. I may be a big baby about a lot of things regarding pain but I can usually take heat with the best of them. I've been a major sun baby all my life and have never minded the heat...until now. Now I will say, the last few days in Cincinnati have been extremely hot and muggy. But, with all those people in one room the house just got heated up. The air conditioner couldn't keep up and being the center of attention made me sweat more so my temperature went up as well! The problem with being overheated while you're pregnant is that it quickly makes you nauseated. I have a pretty amazing husband who actually participated in this shower since it was primarily his family and he was diligent about checking on me. Next thing I knew he had a fan on me while I unwrapped all those wonderful gifts. He's such a considerate and patient person. I am not sure how he puts up with all my symptoms but he does and he's pretty amazing.
