Be cautious with soups in the winter. Anything hot in the winter is appealing to me. I love hot chocolate, coffee, and soup around this time of year. However, soups are dangerous if you're trying to lose weight. I know you probably are already aware but first and foremost, cream-based soups are out of the question. They are extremely high in fat. The second greatest reason to avoid soups when you're tyring to achieve a weight loss is the absurd amount of sodium. It's EXTREMELY high. Beware when you're at a restaurant thinking that you'll just get salad and a cup of vegetable soup. I'm telling you, soup is partially so good because of the amount of salt they load in them. I have yet to find many soups that are good enough for my taste buds that don't contain a fair amount of salt. I have tried making them with very little and they still seem bland to me. If you have a good, light, low-sodium soup recipe please share! I would love to try it!
