I didn't get weighed in last night because we had conferences. Darn, those make for long days, which means I won't get to see my son at all. He will be in bed before I get home. 8-9 is such a long day and I'm just wiped out the following day.
There's still a part of me that thinks, "life is so unfair!" You should've seen the spread our amazing PTO had for us. Several different kinds of homemade soups, pretzel sandwiches with turkey, lettuce, tomato, and cheese (one of my favorite things when I was pregnant!), high-fat casear salad, and 7 different types of homemade desserts (lemon squares, Buskin cookies, banana pudding cake, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, etc.). It struck me as odd: the only time in 6 years that I've eaten what everyone else has eaten was on conferences or teacher appreciation week last year when I was pregnant. Overall I stuck pretty much to my maintenance diet while pregnant but seldomly I would enjoy food that wasn't low-fat and healthy. This was mostly because I was sick ALL the time and I had to eat what sounded good which was not veggies and was usually bread and cheese (lovely, I know). I thought I would be the healthiest preggo woman on the planet...but being nauseous everyday sure did dictate what I could eat. It makes me so jealous to see all the teachers digging into the delicious home-cooked food. Then I bust out my salad and JC frozen dinner from home. I would much rather be healthy and on the smaller side than partake in overindulging on delicious food all the time but every now and then I'm hit with a pang of how unfair it is that I've had to watch my weight all my life. I mean, who hasn't had an order of fries since high school - seriously?. Pizza was always my favorite and I hadn't eaten an entire slice of pizza since high school either...until I was pregnant. That was all I craved - thank goodness I was able to enjoy some of my favorites for awhile. Ha, probably why I gained a whopping 40 plus pounds by the time I gave birth. I hope I don't gain as much with my second baby!!!!! - because boy is this taking FOREVER to get rid of! Yes, I had my son just 4 months ago and I've lost a lot of weight already but darn it, I'm impatient!
