People ask me all the time what my opinion on diet pop is.  I'm pretty much in sync with Jenny Craig, the less you drink diet pop the better off you are.  It does contain aspartame which studies have shown to possibly cause cancer and or diabetes.  I drink it every now and then but I would say maybe one or two a week.  An article written by Foxnews.com, Diet Sodas Don't Help with Dieting, wrote about a study that suggests a link between artificial sweeteners and diabetes.  They also wrote, "diet soft drinkers, as a group, experienced 70 percent greater increases in waist circumferences compared with those who don't drink diet soda."  Now, I have no idea if this group was also exercising and eating a healthy diet, but the fact that immense exposure to aspartame may be linked to high blood sugar - which is not good for your health - is scary enough.  This concerns me because I eat TrueVia (an artificial sweetener) everyday: 2 tsp. in my coffee.  The battle for real sugar vs. artificial sweeteners continues to perplex me.  What is better for my health?  Probably neither but I need a little something in my coffee.  I have eliminated most sugar in my diet but I can NOT drink coffee black!  What is your take on the issue?

3/4 cup grapes

Dinner -

JC Lasagna

Salad (mixed greens, peppers, tomatoes) 2 tsp. light ranch

Snack -

JC Triple Chocolate Cheesecake
