The Xtreme Eating Awards are out and the results help us understand why America’s Obesity Rate continues to climb.  The bullet points for the awards article are:

  1. The average male has a Daily Caloric Need of 2500 kilocalories (kcal) per day; the Daily Caloric Need of the average female is 2000 kcal per day.
  2. Only 1 in 3 Americans are of Normal Weight {BMI between 19-24}….this means that 2/3 of Americans are either Overweight {BMI 25-29} or Obese {BMI 30+}  Click Here to calculate your BMI
  3. The Fast Food Industry not only serves unhealthy foods, they seem to have Weaponized our Daily Bread
  4. It is a well known fact that Fast Food Consumption greatly increases the risk of becoming obese, but the Fast Food Industry is immune from Obesity-Related prosecution.
  5. Many Americans are aware that Fast Foods are unhealthy, but we eat it anyway
  6. If someone doubles their weight, they must eat 4x more food in order to maintain that weight
