I decided today would be fitting to devote this blog to finding a buddy to exercise with. My best friend's birthday is today (happy birthday!) and she and I have become walking buddies this summer. We have so much in common and it's nice to spend an hour and a half walking and talking - it's the easiest form of exercise. We would like to continue our walks this fall. We try and choose a park in the middle of where we both live and crank out our exercise for the day. It's much easier when you can share you journey of healthy living with someone else. My best friend and husband have been so supportive of me and I hope that I've been for them. Healthywomen.org writes, "Exercise partners can provide a kind of gentle coercion and limit your negative self-talk," says Barbara A. Brehm, Ed.D... Forget making excuses about why you're too tired or too busy to exercise. When you're scheduled to meet a friend for exercise, Brehm says, "you'll avoid that debate in your head about whether you should go and work out."
If you can even meet once a week or every other week walking several miles will help you reach your goal before you know it! Thanks to my best friend and husband for their help keeping me motivatedBreakfast -
