10/15/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Saturday

I hadn't budged all week from the two pounds I'd gained from eating 3 bites of cake and 2 glasses of wine.  This seems utterly ridiculous to me.  I should be allowed to enjoy myself like this every now and then without repercussions.  But, at the same time I shouldn't be surprised...my body has always been like this.  People think I'm absurd for how strict I am but if I let my guard down even a little bit my body can't handle it and I start gaining.  I'd be interested as technology starts to improve, looking into a hormone or something going on in my metabolism that makes my struggle so much more intense than the average person.  Last night that left me thinking, "What am I going to do about this weight gain?"      So, I decided to push myself and do something different:  I ran 3 miles!  I'm proud of myself.  I could have never done this in the past.  I started out just telling myself I would just see how far I could go and I went further than I could have imagined.  Luckily, my weight did change this morning and I'm at least back to 125.2.  This is a bummer considering I was at 124.4 last weekend which would have brought me most likely to my goal weight at the Centre.  Oh well, it's the last few pounds that are the most troublesome.  I did have my weigh in today and still gained. 1.4 lbs.  I am hoping this is due to being weighed in after a two hour riding session (which my consultant says you should never do...don't workout before you weigh yourself!).  My new consultant did jokingly say, "Well, how much cake DID you eat?"  At the time, I was pretty mad.  We don't have a good enough relationship for her to joke about something like that.  But, after talking to my Mom about it I see it from another perspective:  many of her clients probably don't quite tell the truth.  Ah well, another week of a planned JC menu for me...
