Did you know waffles are considered as a starch and a fat?! Pancakes are healthier for you than waffles. I asked my consultant if I could have Kashi Waffles on this new maintenance plan and she said generally waffles are made with oil to keep them from sticking to the iron. Pancakes, on the other hand, are not made with oil (if you choose the low-fat version). I thought Kashi Waffles were a good choice - only 150 cal, 5 g of fat. Nope, in order for waffles to only count as a starch like pancakes they have to be less than 3g of fat and less than 125 calories! Who knew?! I love waffles! I just don't want to count them as one of my 3 fats for the day. Kellogs Nutrigrain Waffles are 170 cal and 6g of fat. I haven't given up hope - I'm still going to check the organic section for waffles that count as only 1 starch.
