It is important to control sugar in your diet so that you can manage your weight and long- term health issues.  To do that you'll need to  know which ones are high in sugar and should be avoided.

To eliminate hidden sugar, you begin to decode ingredient labels.  It's really important to know all the other words for sugar and sugar alcohols. Here's a hint: Look for words that end in "-ose."

·         Agave nectar/syrup

·         Cane juice crystals

·         Cane sugar

·         Caramel

·         Corn syrup

·         Corn syrup solids

·         Carob syrup

·         Dextrin

·         Dextrose

·         Fructose

·         Fruit juice concentrate (apple, grape, or pear)

·         Galactose

·         Glucose

·         High fructose corn syrup

·         Honey

·         Lactose

·         Maltose

·         Malt syrup

·         Molasses

·         Sorbitol

·         Sucrose

.MD is a unique hyper-local link to So much information!  I use the system checker box on the Homepage to get information on the front page all the time to find information .  Just last week I asked a doctor for a recommendation on a dermatologist.  When I got home I used the 'Rate your Doctor' feature to check out the doctor that he told me to see.  She had 5 bad ratings for being rude, late, dismissive or leaving patients rooms to go to see other patients (bad time management and a clear lack of interest/connection to her patients).  Needless to say I did NOT book an appointment with her, but rather I used the feature to find a PATIENT RECOMMENDED DOCTOR.  You can utilize those features as well.
