03/21/15- Paula's Healthy Living Exercise/Eating Diary: Wednesday

by Paula (Clean Eating Expert) 22. March 2015 20:19

One of the biggest challenges of overweight people trying to change their body composition through a change in diet, exercise or even surgical means if the destructive, negative feedback from every person that the overweight person comes into contact with on a daily basis.  This is especially true for adolescence and teenagers who are also dealing with an evolving emotional physique.

I’ve spoken to teenagers and adults who feel bullied by their peers, and total strangers throughout their day.  They feel rejected on a regular basis and it takes the arduous challenge of losing weight, and compounds the difficulty.

The key is to stop this vicious cycle by identifying what your goals are.  Develop a plan with practical, attainable goals.  Create a support group from friends, family, church community or diet groups such as weight watchers.  Use a food and exercise diary to manage your daily calorie intake and calorie burn to keep you on track.     DON’T look for solutions with crash, insane, unhealthy diets or weight loss pills.  They rarely work, are expensive and don’t provide you with long-term weight reduction solutions.  Follow my daily blog for practical ideas.

Kids and young adults need as much or more support than adults dealing with weight loss issues.  It is important that everybody knows that they are not alone.  There is a way out of the emotional and physical pain associated with being overweight.  It is NOT an easy road, but one that is accomplished through dedication, perseverance and belief in yourself.

***Today is my daughters 18th birthday!!!!  I am so proud of who she has evolved into. She is bright, funny, energetic and crazy!  I am very lucky to have her in my life.

No easy task for a parent in today's world and a very difficult route for a young adult to navigate in the complex society we live in !

Congratulations to both of you on that milestone !

Exercise and weight loss to more than just running down the road or not eating a bag of chips/  The mental aspects of weight and why someone becaomes overweight is a large issue and can't be forgotten or ignored.  That is often where the SUPPORT aspect of what we discuss here comes into play.
So, if you see a friend or loved one struggeling, give them your time and listen and see if you can support their goals to be more healthy.  Share the blog with others through reviws wieht the star system, coments, Facebook and sending to friends through e mail.
